The Tetris Brand and Scientific Games announced their signing of an agreement, whereby Scientific obtained licensing to develop the popular Tetris console game into an on-line virtual slot machine available for play on mobiles and desktop.
Scientific Games, heading company for subsidiaries including WMS and Bally, both major slot machine brand developers, is ready to start developing a virtual video slot based on the Tetris Brand’s popular block-building game Tetris from Nintendo. In a recent press release, Scientific informed the industry of their signing of the agreement for the production and distribution of a virtual on-line slot machine with the Tetris game as its central theme.
The skill based Tetris game achieved over 500 million paid downloads on mobile of their highly popular game. This uncomplicated game requires players to drop and place blocks into an intricate convoluted pattern without any spaces or gaps in between the rows of blocks. Each time they are successful the block disintegrate and new ones are fed in or dropped from the top of the screen at an ever increasing rate of speed in feed and descent, if the blocks stack up to the top of the screen, leaving no more space to manoeuvre or place block its game over!
This latest deal demonstrates the intention of the Tetris brand to expand further into the on-line gambling world. After selling hundreds of millions of their products over multiple platforms, the Tetris brand became one of the world’s best-recognized brands in video gaming, now soon available in casinos worldwide.From consoles to computers, televisions, and later mobile devices, the Tetris brand games portfolio grew to be included offerings on every imaginable platform and remains in demand by players globally.
